We provide a complete package of monolithic refractories, insulating and safety backup lining materials and all accessory materials needed to line your furnace.  We provide unsurpassed support with in-house engineering and technical services, and on site installation and trouble shooting support. We recommend a fully engineered system designed to allow for even wear throughout the refractory lining.  Many times this requires that different refractory materials be used in high wear areas.  The end result is the most cost-effective lining possible.

Primary Linings                                  Top of Page We provide more alternatives than any other manufacturer.  We have the products to fit your specific melting niche.  These come in a wide variety of compositions that incorporate alumina, magnesia, chrome ore, chrome oxide, pre-formed spinel, silica and zircon. Our alumina based DRI-VIBES® range from almost pure alumina (MINRO-AL® RAM A52), to various alumina/magnesia spinel-forming mixes (DRI-VIBE®683A, DRI-VIBE®682A, DRI-VIBE®681A, DRI-VIBE®655A, DRI-VIBE®697A, DRI-VIBE®671A, DRI-VIBE®382A, DRI-VIBE®381A, etc.), to pre-formed spinel mixes (DRI-VIBE®630SP, DRI-VIBE®643SP) and others.  Our magnesia based DRI-VIBES® range from pure magnesia (MINRO-MAG RAM M20) to various magnesia/alumina spinel forming mixes (DRI-VIBE®673M, MINRO-MAG RAM M17, MINRO-MAG RAM M14, MINRO-MAG RAM M12) and others. Our chrome ore and chrome oxide containing mixes are still widely used.  Our most successful and environmentally friendly mix is DRI-VIBE®667A.  This contains alumina, magnesia, and chrome ore.  Chrome ore tends to be more stable than chrome oxide.  Our chrome oxide containing refractories are many and include DRI-VIBE®496A, DRI-VIBE®436A, DRI-VIBE®437A, SCOTT RAM A37, and others. Our zircon based DRI-VIBES® include MINRO Z RAM Z74 and DRI-VIBE® 574Z (recently developed to allow more loose powder than Z74).  Silica based mixes with zircon additions include DRI-VIBE®149Z. DRI-VIBE®790A is an Andalusite composition designed for lower temperature steels and has excellent thermal shock characteristics. We also have a wide variety of wet ramming compounds.  These include high alumina (MINRO-AL® RAM A60W), chrome alumina (SCOTT RAM A64W), alumina with zircon (MINRO-Z RAM Z72W) and others. The important thing to understand is that we have a composition that will maximize your campaign life, regardless of your conditions.  And, if necessary, we will develop what you need to have.

Topcaps                                          Top of Page We supply a different group of products for topcap applications.  This is due to the low heat normally seen in this area.  The chemistries are similar to the hotface castables to ensure thermal and expansion consistency.  However they are much harder than the hotface materials at a very low temperature.  DRI-VIBE®481A, DRI-VIBE®652A, MINRO-MAG PATCH 674M are a few of the most commonly used compositions.

Grouts                                               Top of Page We offer the largest selection of silica and alumina grouts.  MINRO-SIL® GROUT S14 has been a standard for more than 30 years.  MINRO-SIL® GROUT S15 was recently developed for better workability. Our alumina grouts are unique.  These include colored grouts that allow the coil to be easily distinguished from the working lining during lining removal.  We also have grouts with non-ceramic fibers that allow for rapid dryout during grout heatup.  MINRO-AL® GROUT 263AF, MINRO-AL® GROUT 763AF, MINRO-AL® GROUT 563A, and MINRO-AL® GROUT 663A are a few of the grouts in our product offering.

Maintenance                                                Top of Page We offer many materials including plastics, ramming compounds, and washes.  Our plastics range from 70% - 95% alumina and are manufactured in both fine grain and construction grade consistencies.  These plastics include MINRO-AL® PLASTIC A76, MINRO-AL® PLASTIC A85, MINRO-AL® PLASTIC A89, and MINRO-AL® PLASTIC A91.  We also have plaster versions of each when maximum workability is required.  Chrome alumina plastics provide maximum resistance to mechanical and chemical attack.  STEEL-PACK 90CR is the best chrome alumina refractory available.  Other chrome oxide products include SCOTT RAM MORTAR A96 and SCOTT RAM PLASTER A95. MINRO-AL® PATCH A53W is a high alumina patch material designed specifically for patching steel melting coreless furnaces.  It can be supplied dry or premixed.

Slip Plane Materials                                 Top of Page We provide a wide range of fiberglass cloth and mica products for your slip plane.  MINRO-WEAVE CLOTH is available in several dimensions.  It is also available in a heat treated or sintered form.  This product is easily cut and produces significantly fewer airborne fibers during installation. MINRO-MICA products include a wide variety of compositions and thickness'.

Foundry Floor                                    Top of Page MATRICAST TUFFLOOR is used for foundry floor applications.  This spall resistant, high strength castable can be installed quickly, and placed in service after 24 hours of air-drying.  It will improve safety and reduce floor maintenance in areas subject to molten metal splash, slag, and other intermittent high temperature exposures.
